Summary: WanderLoops stores favorites, trips, schedules, reminders, followed parks, downloaded guides, offline maps, and preferences on your device. The app uses network services for park and recreation data, maps, routing, alerts, advertising in the free version, and purchases. Precise location is accessed only after permission for nearby and map features.
Information stored on your device
WanderLoops may locally store favorites, trip stops and coordinates, itineraries, schedules, accessibility preferences, reminders, followed park codes, alert history, downloaded guides and map tiles, app settings, consent state, and Premium-entitlement information. This information remains on your device unless you export or share it, use a feature that makes a network request, or device backup settings copy it elsewhere.
Location
When you choose a feature such as “Use my location” or “Center on my location,” WanderLoops requests foreground precise or approximate location permission to find nearby destinations or position the map. Choral Software does not operate a location-history account or intentionally receive your current location. Map tiles requested for the viewed area and route requests containing trip-stop coordinates are sent to the configured map and routing providers, which may infer the area you view and receive your IP address and request metadata. You can decline location permission and search manually.
Park, recreation, map, and routing services
Search terms, park codes, facility identifiers, trip-stop coordinates, and map areas needed for a requested feature may be sent directly from your device to the National Park Service API, Recreation Information Database (RIDB), OpenStreetMap tile infrastructure, the OSRM routing service, or another provider configured in the production build. External links may open National Park Service, Recreation.gov, Google Maps, weather.gov, or another app or website. These providers handle information under their own policies.
Notifications and background checks
WanderLoops may request notification permission for trip reminders and park alerts you enable. Reminder details and followed park codes are stored locally. If you follow park alerts, background tasks may periodically send the followed park code to the National Park Service API and save a local fingerprint used to detect changes.
Advertising and consent
The free version uses Google Mobile Ads and Google’s User Messaging Platform. Subject to your region, settings, consent choices, and platform rules, Google and advertising partners may process IP address, device and advertising identifiers, approximate location derived from network information, ad interactions, product interactions, consent signals, fraud-prevention information, crash data, performance data, and diagnostics. This information may be used to deliver, measure, secure, or personalize advertising as permitted. WanderLoops requests applicable consent through Google’s privacy controls. Premium suppresses WanderLoops interstitial ads, but prior data remains subject to provider retention policies.
Purchases
Apple App Store or Google Play processes Premium purchases, billing details, receipts, and restoration. WanderLoops receives purchase and verification data needed to unlock Premium. When a verification service is configured, the app sends the product identifier, store source, and store verification data to that service to validate entitlement. The receipt and entitlement state may also be stored locally. Choral Software does not receive your payment-card number from the stores.
Exports, sharing, and offline downloads
If you export a backup or share trip content, WanderLoops gives the selected file or text to the location or app you choose. That destination’s practices apply. Offline guides and map tiles are stored in the app’s documents or cache area until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall, subject to platform backup and cache behavior.

Analytics, sale, and sharing
WanderLoops does not include a separate first-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK in the reviewed implementation. Advertising providers may perform ad measurement and related analytics as described above. Choral Software does not sell your locally stored trips, favorites, schedules, or precise device location. Data processed by advertising partners may constitute “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some laws depending on configuration and consent.
Retention, deletion, and choices
You may decline location or notification permission, change Google privacy choices where available in the app, purchase Premium to remove WanderLoops interstitial ads, unfollow parks, delete trips or downloads where supported, clear app storage, or uninstall. Delete exported copies separately. Third parties retain network, advertising, purchase, and verification data under their own policies. To ask about information held directly by Choral Software or exercise applicable privacy rights, email info@choralsoft.com.
Children
WanderLoops is a general-audience travel-planning app and is not directed to children under 13. Choral Software does not knowingly collect personal information from children through WanderLoops. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal information to Choral Software.
Security and international processing
WanderLoops uses HTTPS for the reviewed production network endpoints. Local information is protected by device and operating-system safeguards, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Third-party providers may process information in other countries under their own safeguards.
Changes
We may update this policy as WanderLoops, applicable law, advertising choices, or third-party services change. We will revise the effective date and may provide an additional notice for material changes.
