This policy explains how Choral Software handles information in the VariableVille app for iOS and Android.
Summary
VariableVille does not require an account. Learning records are stored locally on your device. The app uses platform purchases and may show Google test advertisements while the advertising integration is being evaluated.
Information stored on your device
VariableVille stores onboarding status, preferences, notes, flashcards, practice attempts, goals, progress, and purchase-entitlement status on your device. Choral Software does not operate a server that receives this learning information.
Camera, microphone, and notifications
- Camera: Android can use the camera for optional handwriting or worksheet recognition. Images are processed for the requested feature and are not uploaded to Choral Software.
- Microphone: Android can use the microphone for optional on-device dictation. Audio is processed locally and is not uploaded to Choral Software.
- Notifications: VariableVille can schedule optional local study reminders. You can disable them in the app or system settings.
On-device AI and model downloads
Supported iOS devices may use Apple Intelligence through Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework. Android users may optionally download AI and speech-recognition model files from third-party hosting. A download request exposes ordinary network information such as your IP address to the hosting provider, but Choral Software does not receive your prompts, responses, or recordings.
Advertising and consent
VariableVille may use Google Mobile Ads and Google’s User Messaging Platform. The current builds use Google’s official test ad identifiers and do not earn advertising revenue. Google may process device information, IP address, advertising identifiers, consent choices, and ad interaction or diagnostic information according to its policies. Where required, the app requests consent before requesting an ad. Premium access disables ads.

Purchases
Optional premium purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Choral Software receives purchase-entitlement status but does not receive your full payment-card details. Store providers process transaction and account information under their own policies.
Sharing and exports
Exporting a cheat sheet, progress summary, note, or other content is user-directed. The destination app or service handles the exported copy under its own privacy terms.
Data retention and deletion
Learning information remains on your device until you remove it using VariableVille’s reset controls, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app. Exported copies must be deleted separately from their destination. Store purchase records remain subject to Apple’s or Google’s retention requirements.
Children
VariableVille is an educational tool and does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through a Choral Software account or server. Parents and guardians should review device permissions, advertising consent choices, and store purchase controls before a child uses the app.
Security
Local-first storage reduces transmission, but no device or system is completely secure. Keep your operating system current and protect access to your device.
Changes
We may update this policy when VariableVille’s features or service providers change. The effective date above identifies the latest revision.
